Alisa Ulven closed the second season of Mad Cafe with her powerful voice, her original songs, and her personal story. Joined on stage by her guitarist/husband Erik, the two created an experience that gave a perfect closer to the Spring ‘24 string of shows.

Wounded Shadow

Sometimes an artist and venue are perfectly matched. Wounded Shadow packed the Mad Cafe and played three sets of original, gorgeous, moody music that felt right at home on the Mad stage.

Zoya Zafar

Zoya Zafar brought an ethereal pad-producing instrument called a HYDRASYNTH that immediately had the Mad Cafe staff swarming the stage during soundcheck. “What IS it? How do you use it?” But for all of the excitement the synth brought, it was immediately overshadowed when Zoya started strumming guitar and singing.

Her music is subdued, gorgeous, and richly layered with emotion.

Allana Grace

Allana Grace brought all the vibes to Mad Cafe. She also brought producer Cole Sirbu, a longtime friend of Mad, to play bass and guitar. Her voice is at once powerful and smooth, while her melodies capture the allure of her lyrics perfectly.

Bran The Artist at The MAD CAFE felt VERY special. Bran co-opted our noodler, Jamaul, and kept him onstage and playing all night long. The music was soulful and deeply vibey. Although mostly original music (as is the mission statement of MAD), Bran ended with a gorgeous rendition What’s Going On that left everyone knowing they had witnessed something magical.
